Wesley Mem Hosts PACEM
We will host this homeless shelter for men,
which is hosted by different churches in the Charlottesville area,
from February 15 through March 1.
Many supplies and volunteers are needed to "make it happen."
On the last two Sundays in January (January 20 and 27),
we will be collecting items needed for PACEM. Click here for
supply list. |

January 1, 2008 Dear Wesley Memorial Church Family, January plans for our stewardship emphasis are coming together in an exciting way This faith community is filled with talented, generous people The Stewardship Committee is aware of how much the church does in mission and ministry, both near and far, but often the results of our giving are not something we get to see In an effort to make visible just how much the congregation’s giving accomplishes, we are combining our pledge campaign with service projects—one new, and one in its fourth year. Please mark your calendars for the following two projects:
Wesley Mem is partnering with Stop Hunger Now to make and package 10,000 meals in our Social Hall People of all ages, from 3 to 103, can participate—we’ll all make a difference together! It’s going to be a fun and meaningful event; everything is being done to make this a memorable afternoon If there’s someone you haven’t seen in church in a while, give them a call and invite them to participate --we need everyone to come and help; we’ve never done anything like this before! It will be a great opportunity to see everyone—we would love it if this event brought as many people together as our 50th Anniversary Jubilee Celebration did! Lunch will be provided by our Men’s Group and UMW Semi-Circle
Enclosed in this mailing is a list of needed supplies for PACEM, the homeless shelter which is hosted by different churches in the Charlottesville area We will host from February 16 – March 1, 2008, and many supplies and volunteers are needed to “make it happen.” In a week or so, you will receive another mailing with information about our operating budget and mission giving, as well as a pledge card for 2008 We encourage you to bring your pledge card to church on either Sunday, January 20 or Sunday, January 27, along with an item for PACEM; we will have a time in worship to bring these to the altar. Thank you for being a generous people and for caring about all the people whose lives we are privileged to touch through our giving! Blessings, Elizabeth A. Foss, Pastor
