Aldersgate Circle

Aldersgate Circle is the first circle of the UMW formed after Wesley Memorial UMC was established in 1954. We now have 20 members.

The majority of our members have retired but remain very active in our church as well as community activities. Our involvement with church activities includes the Buckingham Christmas Project (buying food, clothes, and toys for needy families) and helping to prepare and serve Christmas dinner for the Wesley Foundation students.

Our community activities include volunteer hours to Meals on Wheels, the Salvation Army Daycare Center, Charlottesville Free Clinic, Hospice of the Piedmont, and the Pregnancy Center.

We contributed funds to Hope House, the Salvation Army Daycare Center, the Charlottesville Free Clinic, Shelter for Help in Emergency, and the Wesley Community Childcare Center.

We meet the first Tuesday of each month from September through June, either at church or a member’s home.
