Mission
Statement and Philosophy
We
strive to work as partners with families to provide a fun loving
Christian environment that is intellectually stimulating and
emotionally/socially wholesome. For children to grow and learn they
must first be surrounded by love and respect. Allowing freedom within
clear limits, each child is given the opportunity to grow and develop
to his or her individual full potential. We believe that children are a
gift from God. Helping them to learn is a divine privilege. We give our
best effort to be a positive role model that instills Christian values
that will help your child through the journey of life. We use hands-on
stories and activities that teach your child the fundamental concepts
of the beautiful diverse world God created! There is so much for
children to learn, yet so much for them to offer!
Through a
structured unit-based approach, we encourage children’s
natural
curiosity to explore the world around them. Our lesson plans and
learning centers are age-appropriate and include the developmental
areas of science, math, arts, crafts, language, literacy, writing,
large and small muscle development, music, cooking, simple computer
Technology, and worship. Our goal is for them to
play as they master the skills they will need for Kindergarten. Our
Christian Curriculum is called Story Hour. It
takes at look at the bible stories using songs, art, dramatic play, and
memory verses. We also focus on the fruit of the spirit.
Our
day consists of a balance of teacher-guided and child initiated indoors
and outdoors
activities.
Your child will have the opportunity to build relationships and develop
appropriate
problem solving skills. We use a positive discipline approach that
fosters self-control. Children will learn to make choices and begin to
understand the natural or logical consequence of choices. There are
many positive discipline
strategies
that we use based on the age and personality of each individual child.
