October 20, 2007 marked 27 consecutive years of Superior Ratings at the VBODA State Marching Band Festival. Only one other band in the State of Virginia has matched this record.

The 160 member Charlottesville High School Bands consist of the Marching Band (Marching Knights), the Concert Bands (Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band) and the Jazz Ensemble. The band program consistently earns high ratings at competitions and festivals. .
