March 1, 2008 marked the 26th year the CHS Band directed by Vincent Tornello has earned the title of Virginia Honor Band.  

Mr. Tornello has earned the title of Virginia Honor Band Hall of Fame Director and been awarded the National Sousa Foundation's "LEGION OF HONOR AWARD".
The band has performed or competed in 13 states and 1 Canadian Province.
(Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Missouri, Texas, Arizona; and Ontario, Canada.)

Vincent J. Tornello, Director of Bands since 1972, is only the third director in the history of the program which was started in 1940. Joseph Tornello has been the Assistant Marching Band Director since 1978. Vincent and Joseph are brothers, a very unique brother team in the country.
