Careful consideration went into the design of Walnut Creek Disc Golf Course.  Mike Bonday is the member of the Blue Ridge Disc Golf who came up with the initial design for the course.   Its design was reviewed by the Albemarle County Parks & Recreation director and the regional director of the PDGA, who have both given their thumbs up to the project.  The course design takes into account the natural beauty and terrain around the hills and lake of the park, and is being built with as little impact to the environment as possible. The course offers a variety of challenging obstacles with forest, field, and lakeside holes.  The course offers two tees, and two pin placements for each hole.
