The Blue Ridge Disc Golf Club formed from a group of people interested in disc golf. The group wanted to have a club to promote the sport of disc golf which would provide the funding and maintenance for the area's first disc golf course and organize tournaments. The group had its first formal meeting on February 8, 2002, and decided on its charter and rules and voted-in its first officers. The club has constructed two 18-Hole courses: Walnut Creek Disc Golf Course (The Nut) & Greene County Community Park Disc Golf Course (The GC "Great Course"), and continue to work on maintenance and improvements. Club members have also been involved in designing and building a number of Virginia's disc golf courses: Staunton's Kiwanis Kourse (public), Blue Ridge School (private), Shenandoah County Park (public), and Williamsburg's New Quarter Park (public) The club currently has a proposal for two new courses: Charlottesville's McIntire Park and Albemarle County's Preddy Creek Park. The dues for membership go toward the cost of course construction and maintenance. As a member, you can sign-up for BRDGC's e-mail list to keep up with upcoming, tournaments, events, and meetings. You can also get discounts on discs. The Blue Ridge Disc Golf Club is a non-profit organization.

Tournaments Our Annual Tournaments for 2008: February 2nd - ICE BOWL IV, proceeds to benefit The Arc of the Piedmont and Blue Ridge Food Bank March 29th - Spring Challenge (Blue Ridge Disc Golf Club v. Staunton Disc Golf Club) in Staunton Spring (March - May) BRASS (Blue Ridge Area Saturday Series) at regional courses June - IRONMAN, tournament playing Greene County Community Park September - Fall Conflict (Blue Ridge Disc Golf Club v. Staunton Disc Golf Club) October - MOUNTAIN JAM VII, PDGA Tier C Event at Walnut Creek Disc League The Club meets at Walnut Creek Park or Greene County Community Park every for Saturday league play at 10:30am at the Club Kiosk. (Check the home page for schedule) The Club also meets at Walnut Creek Park for Doubles every Tuesday--meet at the Club Kiosk at 6pm.
